About the Project
The SMART Project is an innovative Erasmus+ initiative that encourages young people to take an active role in building sustainable and eco-friendly cities. The project aims to strengthen collaboration between municipalities and youth, ensuring their meaningful participation in smart city initiatives and urban sustainability efforts.
In today’s rapidly evolving urban landscape, it is crucial to involve young people in developing innovative and sustainable solutions. Through this project, young participants will gain knowledge about urban planning, environmental policies, and strategies to combat climate change.
Moreover, they will have the opportunity to develop their own projects, enhance their entrepreneurial skills, and establish youth-led civil society organizations that contribute to sustainable urban development.

Objectives
Promoting Youth–Municipality Cooperation for Sustainable Urban Areas
This objective aligns with both horizontal priorities by fostering collaboration between municipalities and young people in shaping environmentally friendly urban spaces. By actively involving youth in smart city initiatives, the project supports innovation, creativity, and a sense of ownership in building a sustainable future. This initiative not only contributes to combating climate change but also empowers young people as responsible individuals, encouraging them to seek solutions to urban challenges.Empowering Young People to Create Smart and Green Cities for a Sustainable Future
This objective addresses both priorities by equipping young people with the knowledge and skills needed to develop sustainable urban environments. Through training on smart cities and their role in combating climate change, youth will become responsible actors actively shaping greener societies of the future.Establishing Youth-Led NGOs
The project also focuses on supporting youth leadership by encouraging young people to establish and manage their own organizations. In doing so, they will gain critical skills in entrepreneurship, networking, and organizational management, becoming more capable of implementing sustainable initiatives within their communities.
